What is the average life of TechTrim?
With proper care, including one to two finished topcoats of exterior paint, TechTrim is designed to last a lifetime. It comes with a 25 year limited warranty that covers warp, crack, rot, and insect damage. For more information, please call 877-463-8379.

Does TechTrim "wick" moisture?
No. TechTrim will not absorb moisture on any surface. The natural process commonly called "wicking" will not occur on a TechTrim board.

Is TechTrim affected by water or salt?
TechTrim will not absorb water or moisture and is not affected by salt or salt water.

Does TechTrim crack easily?
No. TechTrim will not peel, crack or splinter.

Does TechTrim look like plastic?
No. TechTrim looks, feels and cuts like wood. Factory-primed TechTrim features a natural-looking, textured woodgrain on one side and a smooth surface on the other.

Where can you use TechTrim?

Installation

What kind of paint should be used on TechTrim?
Use only high-quality, exterior latex paint and apply one to two coats within 90 days of installation. Solvent-based paints or cleaning products are not recommended.

Can TechTrim be cut, trimmed and shaped?
Yes. It can be shaped, ripped to width or crosscut to length with any router; molder; or rip, band or crosscut saw. For best results, cut quickly and use carbide-tipped cutting tools, knives or saw blades. Paint any exposed surfaces. For more information, please call 877-463-8379.

Care and Cleaning

If it's damaged, can TechTrim be repaired?
Repair TechTrim as you would any other trim board. Surface scratches can usually be repaired with light sanding and paint. Deep dents and scratches may require filling with a good-quality, exterior, paintable caulk or sealant. Solvent-based paints or cleaning products are not recommended.
